St. Timothy COPS/Metro is an organized public service organization. St. Timothy COPS/Metro helps the children in our community with school supplies and gifts during Christmas. Along with our Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, we have helped to restore Fr. Benavides Park across from the church, even though the park is not finished yet, it is a great improvement. The group has also walked the neighborhood with Police Chief McManus to help prevent crime in the neighborhood and have identified several homes that have been torn down that were drug houses. St. Timothy COPS/Metro also has one of the biggest National Night Out events in San Antonio providing resources for our community. We meet with Councilwoman Gonzales once every 3 months to discuss issues in the neighborhood. The St. Timothy COPS/Metro group along with COPS/Metro Alliance and support of our Councilwoman pushed to have the City of San Antonio employees starting hourly rate raised. In 2017 we worked on pushing out the vote, block walking, making phone calls, registering voters and conducted a candidate forum with all candidates running for city office. We invite you to join us, we meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the COPS/Metro office on the church grounds. If you would like additional information, please feel free to call Gabe Gonzalez at (210) 912-8581 or Esmeralda Rodriguez at (210) 771-6984.
